Our active stallions span Connemara, Irish Draught Sport Horse, and Thoroughbred bloodlines — each selected for exceptional conformation, temperament, and the consistent ability to produce the rider-friendly horses OPS is known for. Photos coming soon.
Meet Glenn Erinn Echo — a 14-year-old registered 14.1hh Connemara Stallion who came to OPS a couple of years ago and has warmed hearts with his incredible calm and gentle temperament. Oh, and he's not too hard on the eyes either. This flashy boy is one of the prettiest horses on the property.
Truly a unicorn — his temperament is so calm and gentle that he is our leading stallion in our breeding program for therapy horses. A remarkable mover and jumper. Reach out for more information on his availability.
Our stunning Irish Draught Sport Horse was sired by Garryowen of Suma (aka Shaun) out of our Thoroughbred broodmare Smudge. Rapson was inspected at the Irish Draught inspection in September 2023 and received a #1 grading for athleticism.
He has an impressive and growing progeny list and consistently produces horses with the substance, trainability, and quiet willing temperament that OPS is known for.
Gino was born in 2008 and came to OPS after a career-ending training injury prevented him from reaching his athletic potential as a Thoroughbred racer. As a stallion, however, Gino's offspring have proven to have very high athleticism and excellent, above-average temperament.
His pedigree is equally impressive — sired by Smart Strike with lineage tracing back to Bold Ruler. An outstanding choice when crossed with Irish Draught and sport horse mares.
Meet Sjoerd of Kennesary — at 16.3hh, this registered Friesian was the top stallion in May 2022 at the Superior Friesian auction, going for Seventy-Thousand USD as posted by Sugar Bush Equine Marketing. A truly impressive animal whose presence and movement speak for themselves.
These stallions have left an indelible mark on our breeding program. Their offspring continue to represent OPS values of temperament, conformation, and rideability.
Born February 13, 1984, Shaun was bred by the renowned Suma Stud in County Meath, Ireland — the son of Pride of Shaunlara. He became the first RID stallion in Ontario, Canada and one of only four in Canada when approved in July 2003.
His story began at the Dublin Show in 1984, where he was the top weanling and his dam won Reserve Champion mare. After years largely forgotten in a pasture, Shaun came to OPS in 1991 and later to Barb Bowen in 1998. Inspectors were impressed with his condition, strength, and clean legs — confirming he was the only son of Pride of Shaunlara in North America.
Born August 1, 1989 at Orchard Park Stables, BamBam was the son of Little Repo (bred by Roger Rogerson), sired by Sandy Blackall's stallion Limited Finances ("Bert") — a grandson of Northern Dancer. BamBam had a stellar career including a second-place finish in the $25,000 Marshall & Sterling Jumper Classic in Ocala, Florida.

Vinny was born in 2000 with an impressive pedigree — "Seattle Slew" as his grandsire. He leaves a distinct mark on all of his offspring: they're always happy (ears forward), curious, brave, and optimistic — game for anything. Vinny was the spitting image of his father, "Vindication."
